Welcome
Amanda (she/her) hails from Kent, Washington. Armed with a BA in Hospitality Business Management from Washington State University, her initial dream of owning a farm-to-table restaurant evolved into a deeper calling for humanitarian service.
In 2019, Amanda embarked on a soul-searching expedition to India, immersing herself in the study of yoga for three enlightening months. It was during the Womben Wellness Prenatal Yoga Teacher Training that her heart rekindled with a passion dormant since college. This pivotal moment propelled Amanda towards advocating for reproductive justice and perinatal mental-emotional wellness as her primary avenues of community service.
Becoming a Registered Prenatal Yoga Teacher through Yoga Alliance marked the beginning of her holistic approach to supporting perinatal clients. Amanda’s dedication led her to pursue further education, equipping herself to nurture individuals physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually.
In October 2020, Amanda embarked on her Birth Doula Skills course at Bastyr University. The quest for knowledge continued as she honed her skills, completing the lactation support training for Doulas with revered instructor Sharon Muza in December 2020. Diving deeper into her commitment, she enriched her expertise by attending the enlightening Spinning Babies 3 Sisters of Balance workshop in March 2021. The year 2022 saw Amanda achieving the milestone of Reiki Master certification under the guidance of Sharon Muza and Tanya Fuller, adding new dimensions to her healing practice. Further solidifying her foundation, in September 2023, Amanda completed specialized courses in Normal Infant Sleep and SIDS and Sleep Safety led by BASIS at Durham Infancy and Sleep Centre.
At home in White Center, Amanda finds solace in the company of Bugs, her rescue border collie, with whom she explores the outdoors through hiking and running at Lincoln Park. She enjoys tending to her garden while eagerly anticipates the arrival of the babies she supports on their birthing journey.
Amanda’s commitment transcends boundaries, as she upholds a welcoming space for all, free from discrimination based on race, gender, age, sexual orientation, or any other defining characteristic. Her mission is rooted in empowering individuals to navigate the perinatal experience with grace, compassion, and unwavering support.
